How to delete your Burrow data.

Most of your data is stored on your phone, where you can delete it directly. A small amount — account information, feedback you've sent us, and anything you've contributed back to improve the app — lives on our server and can be deleted by email request. We'll complete the request within 30 days.

Delete individual sessions

Open Burrow on your phone, navigate to the session you want to remove, and choose “Delete session.” Deleted sessions are removed from local storage immediately and cannot be recovered.

Delete everything on your device

Uninstalling the Burrow app permanently removes all locally stored sleep recordings, motion data, session history, and saved preferences from that device. There is no separate “export” step — if you uninstall, the data is gone.

On iOS, any data Burrow has written to Apple Health is stored by the Health app, not by Burrow, and must be deleted separately through Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Burrow.

Delete your account

If you created a Burrow account, the following are stored on our server linked to your account and can be deleted on request:

  • Your email address, hashed password, and (if you added it) your name.
  • Your profile fields — age, gender, and general location — if you provided them.
  • Your subscription or access tier, its source, and its expiration date.
  • Records of any promotional access codes you redeemed.
  • Any acoustic feature vectors you contributed by labeling sound events (see Privacy Policy — raw audio is never uploaded).

Burrow does not store your sleep recordings, motion data, or session history on the server — those always live on the device.

Anonymous data tied to your phone, not your account

Some data on our server is keyed only to a per-install identifier (a random ID generated when you first install the app), not to your account or your name:

  • Usage analytics events and crash reports, when the Help improve Burrow toggle is on.
  • Feedback you submitted from inside the app, including any contact email you optionally provided and any attachments.
  • AI chat messages you sent and their classified sentiment.
  • Anonymous feedback on individual sound labels or in/out-of-bed detection accuracy.

Because these records are not tied to your name or account, we cannot locate them without your help. If you want them removed, email us the install identifier shown in the app's Profile screen and we will purge matching rows.

Request deletion by email

To make a deletion request, email hello@burrowsleep.com with the subject line “Account & Data Deletion Request.” Include:

  • The email address you used to sign up (if you have a Burrow account).
  • The install identifier from the Profile screen (if you want anonymous, per-install records removed too).

We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete the request within 30 days. If we need to retain any information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons, we will tell you what and why.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and we do not store your payment details. Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or your other data — to do that, send a deletion request as above. To cancel a subscription:

  • iOS: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Burrow.
  • Android: Play Store › Menu › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.

What we may retain

  • Anonymized, aggregated counts that cannot be linked back to you.
  • Records we are legally required to keep (for example, transaction records held by Apple or Google).
