The basic agreement for using Burrow.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Burrow mobile app (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. What Burrow is

Burrow is a personal sleep tracking app that uses your device's microphone, motion sensors, and (on iOS) optional Apple Watch and Apple Health integrations to record and summarize your nights. Burrow is intended for personal, informational use only and is not a medical device.

Burrow does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or sleep disorder. If you have health concerns about your sleep, consult a qualified medical professional. Do not use Burrow as a substitute for professional medical advice.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Burrow offers a free tier and a paid subscription tier (“Burrow Premium”).

Free tier. The free tier includes the full sleep timeline, motion and posture tracking, on-device audio classification, and weekly insights. It does not include saved audio clips for playback or any AI features (AI summary and AI chat).

Burrow Premium. Premium unlocks saved audio clips with playback and the AI summary and AI chat features. New subscribers receive a 5-day free trial. After the trial, Premium is billed at one of the following auto-renewing rates:

• Monthly — $5 / month
• 3-month — $12 / 3 months
• Annual — $40 / year

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period at the same price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time:

• On iOS, in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Burrow.
• On Android, in the Play Store under Menu › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a paid subscription is purchased. Refunds, where available, are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.

Prices shown above are in U.S. dollars and may vary by country, currency, and applicable taxes; the price displayed in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase controls.

Promotional access codes. Free tier access may also be granted via redeemable access codes that we distribute. Codes may have usage limits and expiration dates; the terms of an individual code are shown at redemption.

4. License

Subject to these Terms, Burrow grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on a device you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not: (a) copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code; (c) rent, sell, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the App; or (d) remove any proprietary notices.

5. Your data

Sleep recordings, motion data, and session history are stored locally on your device. Burrow does not collect or transmit raw sensor data or audio recordings. Optional AI features send aggregated, non-identifying trend data to Anthropic's API only when you activate them. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

You are responsible for backing up any data you wish to retain. Uninstalling the App or resetting your device may permanently remove session data.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Burrow to: (a) record audio of people who have not consented to being recorded in your environment; (b) violate any applicable law or regulation; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its underlying systems; or (d) interfere with the normal operation of the App.

7. Third-party services

Burrow uses third-party services to provide certain features:

• Google's YAMNet model, which runs entirely on-device, for audio classification.
• Anthropic's Claude API for AI-generated session summaries and chat, used only when you opt in by tapping the corresponding button.
• Apple Health (iOS), when permitted, to read sleep-related biometrics.

Your use of these services is subject to the providers' own terms and privacy policies.

8. AI features — no warranty

The AI summary and AI chat features are experimental and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading responses. Do not rely on AI output for medical, diagnostic, or other consequential decisions. Treat AI responses as a starting point, not a definitive answer.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burrow and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow such limitations, in which case this limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using Burrow at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate access to App features at any time, with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
